Lynn and I got back to the hotel. We had tired feet, but were really free in spirit. We decided to find out what nightlife there was in the hotel because this was our Denver vacation rental and it was supposed to be the best vacation ever. We changed our clothes into our nightlife outfits and went downstairs. We could hear the sounds of a band playing music from the eighties. We went in and found a table. I kept looking around at the people. I always think I will find someone I know. Since we were in Denver, that would be a real surprise.
Lynn was looking around with interest. The music was a slow dance tune. Some couples were dancing on the floor on one side of the room. Lynn seemed to look longingly at the dancers. The music changed into a faster beat and the couples dispersed. We put our attention on our drinks and good conversation. The atmosphere was exhilarating. This was much different than crocheting home alone!
The lights were very interesting. Some were strobe lights, some lights shone off of a glass globe that had facets in it. The little light spots danced around the room. There were candles glowing of all colors on the tables. Our drinks had cute little umbrellas in them.
We finally went back up to our room and put on the television. Lynn found a program she liked. I got out my crocheting. We really did need a break from all the excitement. It was good to do something familiar.
We started to plan our next day. Lynn still wanted to go mountain climbing. I wanted to go to the Denver Art Museum. Lynn started to object. I agreed to go mountain climbing one more time, but not tomorrow. It was agreed, we would go to the art museum.
We fell into bed once again. Lynn seemed to toss and turn, and then finally went to sleep. I was in a thoughtful mood. Hearing songs from the eighties brought back some old memories, good memories. We were making new and exciting memories on this trip. The trip was a very good idea indeed!
